Hi friends

This pretty hand-painted candle holder is a Tracy Porter Design.

Do you have candles you can no longer burn?   I love the pretty design on this glass candle holder and could not bring myself to throw it away.  The wick is missing inside the wax and I can no longer use it.   Here is an easy way to clean out your candle holders and reuse them again.

This is what I started with:
Dirty wax and No wick

To clean out the ugly wax and make it pretty again I boiled water in my tea kettle and poured it over the wax.

After about an hour a thin layer of wax floated to the top

I scooped out the first layer and poured more boiling water into the container.

I repeated this one more time until the final layer of wax came out.
To my surprise, I found the wick!!

I cleaned the wax that held the wick and lit it.
Now I have a pretty vase and I still have the candle.

  1. Thanks for the tip! I have several old candle jars that I've saved to try to get the wax out, so this is exactly what I need. :)
